How to start Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure

Forza Horizon 5’s second expansion is finally here with the long-awaited release of Rally Adventure. If you’ve downloaded the expansion, you might be wondering how to start Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure.

Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure brings a brand new map called Sierra Nueva with extreme terrain and new biomes to explore plus ten new rugged off-roaders to tear up the dirt.

Here’s how to start the Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure expansion.

How to start Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure

If you’ve never played Forza Horizon 5 before, you can’t jump into Rally Adventure straight away.

First, you need to complete the initial experience of Forza Horizon 5. This includes a first drive to the Horizon Festival, a Showcase Event and a Horizon Story mission. This should take around 15 minutes.

Before starting the game, make sure Rally Adventure is downloaded and installed. If you own the Forza Horizon 5 Premium Add-ons Bundle, the Premium Edition or the Expansions Bundle, you can download it straight away. If not, Rally Adventure can be purchased separately for £14.99/$19.99.

You also need to download the Midnights at Horizons update before you can access Rally Adventure.

After completing the initial experience in Forza Horizon 5, a Rally Adventure icon will pop up on your map. Set a waypoint and drive to this location.

Starting the event will see you fast-travel to Sierra Nueva and enter the Horizon Badlands Expedition, which introduces you to Rally Adventure’s rugged vehicles, disciplines, and variety of locations.

Sierra Nueva is a standalone map outside of Mexico, so you’ll need to fast travel whenever you want to play the expansion. You can also do this by entering the pause menu, scrolling to Rally Adventure and selecting "travel to Rally Adventure."

Once you complete the Horizon Badlands Expedition, you’re free to explore Sierra Nueva and join a rally team to begin your rally journey.

Is Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure worth buying?

Forza Horizon 5 Adventure is a fun but flawed expansion.

We enjoyed exploring the map Sierra Nueva and the rally stages provide a more casual experience than other rally games on the market. It's more Sega Rally than DIRT Rally.

However, the car list is underwhelming, with only one proper rally car and an assortment of Baja buggies and trophy trucks. Overall, Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure falls short of its potential.
