Gran Turismo 7 is on the way and we're hyped to say the least. The latest Real Driving Simulator will be released on both the PlayStation 4 and 5, but when will it drop? We've got everything you need to know right here about when you can expect to get GT7!
A tale of several postponements
Gran Turismo 7 is a game that has been rumoured about long before it was officially revealed. That day finally came in the Summer of 2020 though, as both GT7 and the PlayStation 5 were revealed in the same presentation.
It looked for all the world that GT7 would be released as a launch title for the PS5, but that never materialised. As the PS5's Autumn 2020 launch date neared, we still didn't get a date for GT7.
Eventually, though, we got one, 2021, but nothing more specific than that. Triple-A titles normally launch in the Autumn, specifically November, as that's when the Christmas sales start. It wasn't a worry when we still didn't get a date, but then the PlayStation Showcase rolled around.
Could there be more delays?
Unfortunately, in this climate, there is always the potential for more delays. However, this is unlikely, as GT7 has been pushed back so much that there shouldn't be any more issues that arise.
Plus, the March 2022 date is a specific day, which Polyphony must be very confident of hitting. Otherwise, they wouldn't have pigeonholed themselves to it, it wouldn't make sense.
For the first time, we have a day to look forward to, and we'd expect Polyphony to meet that goal.
That being said though, it wouldn't be the first GT game to miss its release date. Gran Turismo 5 experienced multiple delays, with the final one coming down to changing the firmware at the last minute.
Whenever GT7 does launch though, we're very confident it could be one of the best GT titles ever.
We got to find out what GT7's release date is in its latest trailer. We've linked it below for your viewing pleasure:
