It's been a long wait for Gran Turismo fans, with the game first announced back in June 2020 and then delayed seemingly indefinitely earlier this year.

However, just because it's been quiet from Polyphony doesn't mean nothing has been happening. Tonight's PlayStation Showcase gave fans their best look at Gran Turismo 7 yet. But did it give us a release date?

Gran Turismo 7 steals the showcase

The PlayStation Showcase got off to a slow start, but Gran Turismo fans got what they were waiting for. A huge new trailer showed off everything from concept Aston Martin's to the Supra Castrol livery.

With a full custom livery editor and some of the most sensational graphics racing has ever seen GT fans are right to be excited about this one.

With an immense home-screen layout, every track you can think of, and the sound to go along with it, GT7 looks like it will steal the racing crown for Polyphony.

What about a release date?

Gran Turismo will land on 4 MARCH, 2022. There was no hard and fast date given, but at least we have a window now!

That still leaves a lot of waiting for fans, but at least it gives everyone some time to save up, both for GT7 itself and even that elusive PS5 console.

The game will be a PS4 release too, but to get the full experience you'll need the high-powered next-gen console.
