We're getting closer and closer to the launch of Gran Turismo 7 every day and we've had some big news regarding one of the more high-profile cars in the game. A new Vision concept car has been confirmed and we can't wait to take it for a spin.
What are the Vision cars though, and what does it mean for GT players? We've got everything you need to know right here!
What are the Vision cars?
Gran Turismo has always been at the forefront of gaming technology. Polyphony has consistently pushed the boundaries and achieved what many had believed to be impossible at the time. So, it makes sense that automotive manufacturers want to use GT to promote their forward-thinking concept cars.
We've had many examples of this in the past, such as the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV and the Toyota FT-1 Vision. The GT Vision reveals have happened every years since 2011. There weren't any Vision cars revealed last year, but this year will make up for lost time.
Porsche - GT collaboration
German car manufacturers Porsche announced a partnership with Gran Turismo back in 2019. Since then, the number of Porsche vehicles has steadily increased in Gran Turismo Sport and more have been confirmed for Gran Turismo 7. The most exciting of these though, is the Porsche Vision GT car, the first of its kind.
Porsche have outright confirmed now that one of the cars on the cover art of Gran Turismo 7 is the Porsche Vision GT. For reference, the other is Mazda RX-Vision GT3.
We get a few quick snapshots in the trailer from earlier this year, and a promotional GT-Porsche event in September, but nothing in terms of gameplay. However, we've now had a video made available to us via Porsche's Twitter and this car looks FAST:

We also know that there will be a proper reveal in during the GT esports world finals on 5th December, which is just three days away.
It does look as though this will be one of the more realistic concept cars that we've seen for GT Vision. Of course, we don't know what kind of engine is powering this beast, so it could be based in fantasy, in that case.
Trailer and release date
GT7 will be released on 4th March 2022 on both the PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles. Check out the latest trailer below:
