Fanatec's F1 Esports rim is now available to order

To celebrate its official partnership with F1 Esports, Fanatec has unveiled a successor to the ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula Esports rim. Compared to the original, V2 is upgraded with magnetic shifters, customisable RGB LEDs, and an exchangeable quick release.

Officially licensed by F1, Fanatec’s new esports wheel is a replica of steering wheels used in Formula 1 cars. With a 270-mm diameter, its compact design allows for fast movements during heated races.

Sharper shifting

The esports-focused wheel is upgraded with new magnetic paddles allowing for sharper shifting when driving at the limit. Made from anodised aluminium, the paddles are 3mm thick.

These work in combination with an RGB RevLED bar featuring nine multi-colour RGB LEDs that display the RPM and optimal shifting point.   

At the center is a blue LED display showing telemetry data including speed and the current gear. A 7-way FunkySwitch allows you to adjust the steering, force feedback, and brake pedal settings while you drive.

As you would expect from Fanatec, the wheel is built with high-quality materials, high-strength metal construction and comfortable Alcantara grips.  

Easily accessible blue buttons are located below the screen along with the official F1 logo highlighting Fanatec’s partnership. There are 11 buttons in total and an analogue joystick for navigating menus.

Fully upgradeable

The standard magnetic paddles can be replaced with the Podium Advanced Paddle Module. Retailing for €179.95, the F1-style pedal set includes two analogue clutch paddles to optimise launch starts.  

Alternatively, they can be configured as an accelerator and brake or one of the paddles can be used as a handbrake.  The add-on also comes with two premium magnetic paddles with 3 mm-thick carbon fibre plates.    

Thanks to the exchangeable quick release, the new esports wheel can be upgraded to Fanatec’s upcoming QR2 release system when it’s available.

To prepare for F1 2022, you can order the Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula Esports V2 from Fanatec’s website for €269.95.

PlayStation players can attach the Formula Esports V2 to the Podium Racing Wheel F1 and Gran Turismo DD Pro. On PC, it’s also compatible with the CSL Elite, ClubSport, and Podium wheel bases. It’s not compatible with Xbox consoles, however.
