Euro Truck Simulator 2 is one of the biggest simulation-based titles in the world, and in fact, remains one of the most played games on Steam.
Now, however, it seems players are getting even more official ways to play.
SCS are adding an official multiplayer mode to the game, which will remove the need for mods to be used. Let's take a look now!
The new multiplayer mode is called 'Convoy' and allows players to connect with other friends and then drive in the same world.
This world is also fully customisable, with the AI settings, traffic, time, and weather conditions all changeable. This means you can really make the world your own or to suit your playing style.
If you're not one for sitting in Discord and playing with your friends, the mode has even implemented CB radios. This will let you communicate with the other players in the world via the radio, and get a more authentic trucking experience.
Worlds can currently have up to 8 players on them completing the same job, so there's room for a big group of you!
How to play
The multiplayer mode is currently still in a state of beta testing, as SCS roll out the mode for players to try and then provide feedback.
This means that it's not quite refined yet, but expect a silky smooth experience upon full-launch of the feature.
You can follow the link: HERE, which has instructions on how to access the beta and get it setup in your game. Next, you just need to get some mates together and jump into a trucking experience like no other!
There are some parameters. For now, no mods can be used in conjunction with 'Convoy'. Likewise, the host and the players must have the same set of cargo and map DLCs otherwise you won't be able to play together.
