LEGO 2K Drive is out now on every major platform. 2K Games’ new Mario Kart Rival is playable on PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch including current and last-gen platforms. There’s also online multiplayer for up to six players, but is LEGO 2K Drive cross-platform?
We’ve got everything you need to know about cross-platform multiplayer in LEGO 2K Drive.
Is LEGO 2K Drive cross-platform?
If you have friends who play LEGO 2K Drive on other platforms and you want to race online, we have good news. LEGO 2K Drive is cross-platform, with support across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
So, if for example you have LEGO 2K Drive on PS5 but your friends have the PS4, Xbox One or PC version, you can still race and explore Bricklandia together online. Likewise, Xbox Series X|S players can race with Xbox One or PlayStation and PC players.
The only exception is Nintendo Switch, which is not cross-platform with the PlayStation, Xbox and PC versions of LEGO 2K Drive. This is often the case with Nintendo Switch releases.
LEGO 2K Drive’s online multiplayer lets up to six players race online. In the Shared World mode, up to six players can freely explore Bricklandia and enter challenges.
All areas unlocked in the single-player Story mode appear in the online Shared World, but you can’t unlock new areas in this online mode. Play with Friends mode also lets you party up with friends in Cup Series and Races.
As well as cross-platform, LEGO 2K Drive also supports cross-gen saves. This means save files from the last-generation PS4 and Xbox One platforms can be transferred to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
How to enable crossplay
If you want to race with other players across different platforms, make sure crossplay is enabled. To enable crossplay, select Settings from the pause or main menu. Then scroll down to Crossplay and press the checkbox to enable it.
