Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator Coming to PC and Consoles in 2024

Driving simulator games are growing in popularity, with titles such as Euro Truck Simulator 2 for trucking and Fernbus Simulator for buses leading the way. One element of city driving has been missing through all this, but that’s no longer the case. Start your meters, and get ready for Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator.

Developed by Simteract Studio and published by Nacon (the same publisher as the upcoming Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown), Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator puts you in the shoes of a taxi driver in Barcelona. The world of Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator has been created in a 1:1 scale recreation of the beautiful Catalonian city, with all the sights and sounds included.

Exploring the city of Barcelona and finding new points of interest will earn experience points. These experience points can be used to unlock new skills, improving your ability as a taxi driver.

The main goal of the game is to deliver passengers to their destinations. From pickup to dropoff, it’s your job to keep the passenger happy. This may include turning off the radio, turning up the heating, and even opening a window for them.

Hailing success

Getting your passengers to their destination on time whilst keeping them happy will lead to big fares and even bigger tips. This earned money can be put towards buying new cars, customising your taxis, and hiring new drivers to run them. You will need to keep some money aside however as you may get fined for speeding or crashing out on the streets or require an impromptu visit to the garage.

Random events including roadworks, car accidents, and even parades requiring detours as you cross the city, while changes in the weather can affect driving conditions. You’re required to obey the rules of the road too, so no treating the game like Crazy Taxi!

Release date

Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator will launch in February 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. You can check out the game and add it to your Steam wishlist here.
