When will MotoGP 24 be announced? The real-life 2024 MotoGP season is about to get underway, so when will its video game counterpart be confirmed?

When will MotoGP 24 be announced?

We were asking this exact question 12 months ago wondering when the 2023 game would be released. It turned out that MotoGP 23 would come out later in the year than 22, in what was a good move for the series.

MotoGP 23 was moved from the series' regular release date to a new slot in June 2023, a few months later than the usual release date in April.

MotoGP 23 was officially announced via an online trailer on 30 March. That should mean that we can expect the MotoGP 24 announcement before the end of this month.

In the context of the real-world season, that places MotoGP 24's announcement between the Portuguese and Americas Motorcycle Grands Prix.

MotoGP 24 consoles and release date prediction

MotoGP 24's systems will be confirmed when the game is announced. We can say almost for certain that MotoGP 24 will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and Windows PC.

What is less certain, though, is the old-gen PS4, Xbox One systems and and also the Nintendo Switch. A Switch release could be dropped if MotoGP 24 goes next-gen exclusive.

Some Milestone games such as Ride 5 have skipped the previous generation of consoles, while others like Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 didn't. Other triple-A racing titles like F1 24 haven't skipped last-gen either.

We're therefore not sure if MotoGP 24 will be on last-gen, but we'd wager that it probably will be. However, if Milestone wants to introduce a new game engine, MotoGP 24 will be a new next-gen exclusive.

We see little reason for MotoGP 24 to deviate from its new early June release date in 2024. This means we can likely expect MotoGP 24 to be released worldwide and on all systems in early June or around the Italian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

MotoGP 23 Announcement

There's no announcement trailer for MotoGP 24 yet, but it's worth reminding ourselves what we can expect. MotoGP 23's announcement trailer confirmed the game's "Champ v Rookie" storyline.
