Need for Speed is one of our favourite racing game series. The arcade racer is almost three decades old now, and we're hyped for the next instalment. We've heard that this will be this year, but news has been hard to come by recently.
So, what's the state of play when it comes to NFS 2022? We've got everything you need to know right here!
A story of delays
This was also because of developers Criterion were shifted to help with Battlefield 6. Now that Battefield 2042 has been released, we can assume that development on NFS has been resumed.
There have even been rumours that Codemasters have been supporting Criterion recently on this project.
Will there be more delays?
Something that can't be ignored is the fact we haven't heard anything official from EA regarding NFS 2022 since it was delayed last year. We don't even have a title yet, hence why we're referring to it as "NFS 2022".
Will NFS 2022 become 2023, though? Well, sadly, it's certainly possible.
There's still time yet, though, as Need for Speed Heat was revealed in August of 2019. So, there's still plenty of time to see a reveal trailer ahead of a November release.
However, some sources from inside EA are now claiming that a March 2023 release date looks more likely. We'll just have to wait and see whether a title for the game gets announced or another delay.
