The answer to the question will there be a new NFS game in 2022 has finally been confirmed! Need for Speed Unbound was officially unveiled last week in an awesome reveal trailer.

Will there be a new NFS game in 2022?

Need for Speed had become a biannual series, meaning that it was due to be released in 2021. However, due to the pandemic, this was delayed until 2022.

This was also because NFS developers Criterion were shifted to help with Battlefield 6. To help compensate for this, EA drafted in Codemasters to assist Criterion in Need for Speed Unbound's development.

That decision seems to have paid off, as despite rumours of further delays to NFS 2022, Unbound was confirmed to be scheduled for release later this year.

Will there be more delays?

The announcement of Need for Speed Unbound has put to bed the rumours of another delay in 2023. EA wouldn't put the trailer out into cyberspace if NFS Unbound wasn't going to be ready for the end of November.

It's simply too close to release day and another delay would ruin the series' reputation. Unbound will be all but completed now, with just the final kinks to be worked out by both Criterion and Codemasters left.
