We’re big fans of art of rally. With its stylised environments and a large roster of cars inspired by iconic rally cars from multiple eras, it’s a love letter to rallying and one of our favourite indie driving games over the last few years.
art of rally landed on PC in 2020 before being ported to consoles last year. Since launch, art of rally has only been available digitally, but fans and collectors have been requesting a physical edition.
Nearly two years after launch, art of rally is finally getting a physical release. If you’re a hardcore fan with deeper pockets, there’s even a fancy collector’s edition.
art of rally Standard Physical Edition
Two versions of the art of rally physical edition are coming this autumn: a Standard Physical Edition and Premium Collector’s Edition. Both versions will be available on PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
Sadly, an Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S version hasn’t been announced. Available to preorder from Serenity Forge for $34.99, the art of rally Premium Standard Edition includes:
- Physical copy of the game on Nintendo Switch/PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5
- Soundtrack download card
- Vinyl sticker sheet – set of 11 unique stickers
- DIY papercraft car modeled off the in-game il Gorillona
art of rally Premium Collector’s Edition
The more expensive art of rally Premium Collector’s Edition costs $74.99 and comes with the following extras:
- Physical copy of the game on Nintendo Switch/PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5
- Soundtrack download card
- Vinyl sticker sheet – set of 11 unique stickers
- DIY papercraft car modeled off the in-game il Gorillona
- Illustrated poster featuring a compendium of the in-game cars
- 4-piece enamel pin set
- Set of 4 bumper stickers with unique art
- Set of 4 patches highlighting in-game locations
- 3D lenticular card featuring an action shot from the game
The art of rally physical is slated for an autumn release. FunSelektor and Serenity Forge haven't announced a specific release date yet, though Amazon lists a 16 September release.
For now, the art of rally physical edition is only available in the US. If you place an order outside of the US, you may have to pay VAT and Import charges on top of shipping fees. It's probably worth waiting to find out if the art of rally physical edition is released outside the US.
Vinyl soundtrack
A big part of art of rally’s appeal is the soothing synthwave soundtrack. The Standard and Collector’s Editions include a soundtrack download card, but the art of rally soundtrack is also getting a vinyl release for collectors.
Presented in a gatefold with two coloured LPs, the art of rally vinyl soundtrack is available to preorder from Serenity Forge for $34.99. It’s expected to ship in Q3 2022.
New Indonesia location
As well as announcing the physical editions, FunSelektor has announced a free update will add a new location set in Indonesia following last year’s Kenya update.
Coming later this year as a free update for PC and consoles, the new location will see you tackle six new tropical stages as well as a new free-roam area filled with collectables to hunt.
Nintendo Switch update improves graphics
When it launched last year, the Nintendo Switch version of art of rally suffered from graphical and performance issues.
These issues are rectified in a new patch update that increases the tree and trackside object and vegetation density, as well as adding grass. Effectively, the update brings the visuals on part with other platforms.
