While the toy car racer was light on content at launch last year, Milestone is doing a commendable job updating Hot Wheels Unleashed with free and paid DLC, adding new cars, tracks, and themed expansions.
A new DLC batch has landed in Hot Wheels Unleashed, so let’s find out what’s new in February's update.
Race as Chun-Li from Street Fighter
One aspect that makes Hot Wheels Unleashed stand out is the huge variety of licensed content, with unique cars from popular franchises ranging from Batman to Spongebob.
There are also cars based on Street Fighter characters including Blanka and M Bison. And now you can race as Chun-Li. Available for £1.99, the new DLC car is inspired by Chun-Li’s signature blue and yellow outfit.
Complementing the Party Wagon, Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also joins Hot Wheels Unleashed as a DLC car. The orange theme represents his coloured bandanna. Raphael will follow in April and you can already race as Leonardo.
We expect Donatello will eventually be added to complete the Turtles lineup. The third and final car in the February update is based on the Power Rage car from the animated Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers TV show.
For track creators, a new Booster Slam Module adds a revolving basketball-style hoop as an obstacle for you to jump through.
ALso available is an Outer Space Customisation Pack featuring a variety of space-themed items to decorate walls, floors, and doors for the basement.
This DLC contains:
For the Basement:
- 2 walls
- 2 floors
- 1 door
- 1 decoration
- 1 couch
- 1 set of 4 posters
For the Unleashed Profile:
- 1 icon
- 1 tag
