Mattel and Milestone have announced a Looney Tunes Expansion for Hot Wheels Unleashed with themed vehicles, customisation items, and a new environment inspired by the classic animated series.
Hot Wheels Unleashed Looney Tunes Expansion
Available on 14 July, the Hot Wheels Looney Tunes Expansion includes five new vehicles with designs inspired by classic Looney Tunes characters. A full vehicle list is yet to be revealed, but one of the cars shown in the teaser trailer looks to be inspired by Roadrunner. Another appears to be based on Foghorn Leghorn.
The expansion also includes a themed Track Builder Module, themed customisation items for the Basement and Player Profile, and a new environment.
Split into four areas, the Looney Tunes Adventure Park lets players “relive the hilarious adventures of the classic animated series.” One area is based on a “desert set of Wile E. Coyote’s epic fails.”
Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 3
The Looney Tunes Expansion is included in the Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 3. Alternatively, it can be purchased separately from 14 July. Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but we imagine the Looney Tunes Expansion will cost £11.99 like previous expansions.
Along with the Looney Tunes Expansion, the Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 3 will add new content for the next three months, including nine vehicles, three themed customisation packs, and three track builder modules.
Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 3 will be available to purchase from 9 June. A road map shared by Milestone confirms new TMNT Donatello, He-Man, and The Mystery Machine cars are coming in June, along with the Jumping Towers Module and Cyberpunk Customisation Pack.
July’s Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 3 includes the Looney Tunes Expansion, as well as the TMNT Shredder, Skeletor, and Swamp Thing cars. The Zero Gravity Checkpoint Module and Retro Game Customisation Pack will also be released in July – perhaps the Retro Game Customisation Pack will have content inspired by retro racing games?
Finally, July’s Pass Vol. 3 cars include The Jetsons, Classic Packard, and McLaren 720S. Joining the new cars are the Super Dealership Module and Hot Rod Customisation Pack.
September will mark Hot Wheels Unleashed’s one-year anniversary, but Milestone’s post-release DLC is showing no signs of slowing down.
