Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 release date confirmed

Last month, Nintendo previewed the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 DLC in its February Direct show, revealing two new tracks and a new playable character. Now, Nintendo has revealed the full track list and release date for Wave 4.

Like previous DLC Waves, Wave 4 adds eight fan-favourite tracks from classic games in the series to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but one of them is an original circuit new to the series. 

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Wave 4 track list

Wave 4’s eight tracks are split into two cups: Fruit Cup and Boomerang Cup.

Fruit Cup contains classic tracks such as DK Summit from Mario Kart Wii and Riverside Park from Mario Kart Super Circuit GBA, which is now playable on Switch Online as part of the GameBoy Advance collection.

Not only that but Wave 4 also adds a brand new track: Yoshi’s Cup. This colourful track is inspired by Yoshi’s Island, the 1995 SNES sequel to Super Mairo World.

Boomerang Cup adds four more tracks including Waluigi Stadium – Mario Kart Double Dash!!!.

Last seen in Mario Kart Double Dash!!! on GameCube, Birdo also joins Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as a new playable character in the Wave 4 DLC.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 release date

As for the release date, Nintendo has confirmed the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 DLC will be available on 9 March.

It’s included as part of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, which is free for Switch Online subscribers or sold separately for £22.49 on the Nintendo Store.

There are two more Waves still to come, with Wave 5 and 6 adding 16 more tracks later this year. All six Booster Course Pass Waves will add 48 tracks in total, meaning Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will have more circuits than any game in the series.

Maybe Nintendo will finally focus on Mario Kart 9 after that.
