MudRunner VR Spin-Off Arrives on Meta Quest

MudRunner fans rejoice: a new VR spin-off has arrived. Out now on Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest Pro, MudRunner VR promises to deliver the “ultimate off-road experience.”

To be clear, this is a standalone VR spin-off rather than an add-on for the original MudRunner (originally known as Spintires). Like the flatscreen MudRunner and SnowRunner games, the aim is to drive all-terrain trucks, complete objectives, and transport cargo in a series of delivery missions.

This isn’t as easy as it sounds. While completing these missions, you’ll need to avoid getting stuck in the mud or running out of fuel. Thanks to their realistic terrain deformation physics, the MudRunner games are notoriously punishing but rewarding to master. Extreme environments see you tackle muddy terrain, wade through rivers, and conquer steep hills. 

Featuring Story and Free Roam modes, the VR spin-off lets you explore vast off-road environments in eight vehicles, each featuring unique capabilities, appearances, and equipment.

Moving the series to VR also brings interactive cockpits and the ability to roam outside the cabin to refuel or use the winch to rescue your stranded truck out of trouble. Experiencing MudRunner's impressive mud and water physics in VR should add a new layer of immersion and intensity.

MudRunner VR is out now on Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest Pro for £14.99 / €19.99 EUR. It’s the second MudRunner spin-off this year following the release of Expeditions: A MudRunner Game in March, which focuses on exploring instead of delivering cargo. Sadly, there are seemingly no plans for a PSVR 2 port.
