Need for Speed No Limits Rise of the Tiger update adds McLaren Speedtail

Criterion’s new Need for Speed is one of our most anticipated racing games of 2022. While we were expecting the next NFS to arrive in November, the latest rumour suggests it will be revealed earlier than expected, possibly in September or October this year.

If you can’t wait until then, the Need for Speed No Limits mobile game has received a substantial update to celebrate Lunar New Year, adding new cars and events.

New cars

As part of the Rise of the Tiger update, three new cars have been added to Need for Speed No Limits. Headlining the update is the spectacular 2020 McLaren Speedtail. Like the McLaren F1, the McLaren Speedtail features a central driving position and a three-seat layout.

Limited to just 106 examples in real life, the McLaren Speedtail produces 1,036 horsepower, enabling a top speed of 250 mph. That makes it the fastest McLaren road car ever made.

While it costs over £2 million in real life, you can earn the McLaren Speedtail in NFS No Limits by completing the Rise of the Tiger event open until 14 February. You'll also receive an exclusive Year of the Tiger Lunar New Year wrap for the 250-mph Hyper GT.

Other cars you can win in the Rise of the Tiger event include the 1977 Pontiac Firebird, earnable in the seven-day Crew Trials days event. Completing the seven-day Xtreme Racing Championship also hands you the keys to the 2021 Porsche 911 GT3.

In response to community feedback, the update also makes changes to the interface to improve the user experience. While Forza Street was shut down earlier this year, EA and developer Firemonkeys Studios still supports Need for Speed No Limits - this is the 50th update since the free-to-play mobile game launched in 2015.
