At the start of the year, iRacing acquired Monster Games, the studio behind the NASCAR Heat series. Now, the first project from this partnership has been announced.

Sadly, no screenshots or gameplay footage of iRacing’s new World of Outlaws game has been shown yet.

The new World of Outlaws game is coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles in autumn 2022, but specific formats are unconfirmed. Presumably, it will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it remains to be seen if it comes out on last-gen platforms.

iRacing console debut

While Monster Games is developing the new World of Outlaws game, the title will use art assets from iRacing. Thanks to the partnership, all vehicles will also benefit from an “improved physics model." Cars, tracks, and drivers in the game will be announced in the coming months.

“We’ve been exploring the right opportunity for iRacing to move into the console gaming market for quite some time and are excited to partner with World of Outlaws in order to take this first step later this year,” said iRacing president Tony Gardner.

“iRacing’s acquisition of Monster Games enabled us to step in and help provide some improvements to this title while it was already in development, and we look forward to being able to contribute even more to MGI’s future titles. We look to provide the dirt racing community with an engaging and fun console gaming experience.”

The last officially-licensed World of Outlaws game was World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars developed by Big Ant Studios and released in 2010 for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Featuring official cars and dirt tracks including Volusia, Williams Grove Speedway and The Dirt Track at Charlotte, iRacing is the exclusive online dirt racing partner of the World of Outlaws series. iRacing also hosts the officially-sanctioned World of Outlaws eSports series.

Let's hope this paves the way for more console iRacing content in the future.
