rFactor 2 to add Laguna Seca in Q2 Content Drop

rFactor 2 just keeps getting better and better. This month sees the launch of the Q2 Content Drop, adding a raft of new cars, tracks, and long-requested features to the popular PC simulation.

British Touring Car Championship fans rejoiced with the news that BTCC cars, Brands Hatch, and Donington Park will be added to rFactor 2 this month. Now, Studio 397 has confirmed that Laguna Seca is coming to rFactor 2 as part of the Q2 Content Drop.

Laguna Seca coming to rFactor 2

The legendary Californian circuit has been notably absent in rFactor 2, despite appearing in other PC racing simulations like iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione, as well as Gran Turismo 7 on the PlayStation.

Thankfully, this will finally change this month.

Measuring 2.238 miles long, Laguna Seca first opened in 1957 and hosts racing series such as IndyCar and the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Based on a new laser-scan of the circuit, rFactor 2 will boast the most accurate version of Laguna Seca yet.

rFactor 2 players will tackle the most accurate version of Laguna Seca’s famously challenging corkscrew yet.

Using a new laser-scan of the circuit and thousands of reference materials, rFactor 2’s recreation of Laguna Seca will be the “most modern and up-to-date version of the track in sim racing.”

Q2 Content Drop

rFactor 2 players have a lot to look forward to in the Q2 Content Drop. Laguna Seca will be one of several new tracks in the update including the Brands Hatch and Donington Park British circuits.

As previewed in the April Release Candidate, the next major update will also add new and improved engine sounds, updated rain weather and particle effects, and smarter AI opponents.

Studio 397 hasn’t announced a release date yet. We won’t have to wait too long though, as the rFactor 2 Q2 Content Drop is releasing sometime in May.
