The Crew 2 getting next-gen update on PS5 and Xbox Series X in July

The Crew 2 has been going from strength to strength, with monthly seasons adding new cars, rewards, and Live Summits every week. This week marks the fourth anniversary of The Crew 2, and to celebrate Ubisoft is teasing Season 6.

The Crew 2 Season 6 start date

The Crew 2 Season 6 starts on 6 July. While the last two seasons focused on open-world exploration, Season 6 will take you back to the track.

Developed in collaboration with three-time Formula Drift champion Chris Forsberg, Season 6 will feature a brand new Motorflix episode centred on Forsberg Racing.

Forsberg will teach players how to become a precision driver in some of his most iconic drift cars in Season 6 Episode 1: Dominion Forsberg including his Nissan GT-R. It sounds a lot like Forza Horizon 5’s Drift Club Mexico Horizon Story where Formula Drift Champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. teaches you the art of driving sideways.

A new trailer gives us a first look at the drift challenges in The Crew 2 Season 6 as Forsberg burns rubber in his Nissan 370Z drift car.

To celebrate the game’s fourth anniversary, a dedicated Live Summit designed by the community is available this week and the Saleen S7R is reduced to one Crew Credit.

Next-gen update

Season 6 will introduce the long-awaited next-gen update for The Crew 2 as well as quality of life improvements. Although the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles have been out for a couple of years now, The Crew 2 has only natively supported the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. This will change on 6 July when the next-gen update rolls out on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The update will increase the frame rate to 60fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X, enhance the graphics with new colour grading and weather effects, and improve the car handling.
