Rocket League’s popularity is showing no signs of slowing down. To keep players on the pitch, developer Psyonix has done a phenomenal job updating Rocket League with new content over the years, and the next update should be Rocket League Lucky Lanterns 2022, but it's not...the annual Lucky Lanterns event usually celebrates the Lunar New Year, but for 2022 Psyonix is doing a different route.
Rocket League Lucky Lanterns 2022
In the 2021 Lucky Lanterns event, items including the Lucky Cat and Ozzy Ox Toppers, Lantern Lift and Cherry Blossom Boosts, and the Temple Guardian Player Banner were available to unlock.
Players could also claim a free Short Fuse Player Banner and Shen Avatar Border in the shop. For a limited time, other goodies like the Lantern Lift and Painted Paper Dragon Goal Explosions were available to buy in the Item Shop.
Now though, Psyonix is replacing the Lucky Lanterns for 2022.
In their place comes Neon Nights, a celebration of the music within Rocket League.
Neon Nights start & end date
We're getting Neon Nights, which is in collaboration with GRIMES, this week.
The event will start on January 26 at 9am PST/5pm UTC and run untile February 8.
Challenges, rewards, & more
There will be plenty of things going on for players during Neon Nights.
Challenges will begin dropping immediately, giving players the chance to unlock GRIMES-themed items.
These include the Gravitator and Space Queen Toppers, Braided Trail, GRIMES decal, GRIMES wheels, and GRIMES player banner.
There will also be Heatseeker Ricochet as an LTM.
Players can earn Golden Moons which will unlock a mix of classic items from the Impact, Nitro, and Overdrive item series.
