Rocket League Sideswipe Season 7 brings big changes to Rocket Pass

While Rocket League’s new Neon Nights event is underway featuring music from rapper Cochise, a new season for the Rocket League Sideswipe mobile spin-off is landing soon.

Rocket League Season 7 brings some big changes to Rocket Pass and Ranked Seasons, as well as new items and the return of Ranked 3v3 matches.

Rocket League Sideswipe Season 7 delayed

Originally slated to kick off today, Rocket League Season 7 has been delayed, with the release date to be announced soon.

"Season 6 is being extended as Team Sideswipe finalizes Season 7 polish for you," an update on the official Rocket League Status Twitter reads. "This means you'll have more time to hit that Season 6 rank reward you're aiming for.


Rocket Pass changes

Starting in Season 7, Rocket League Sideswipe is changing how players level up. Now, Rocket Pass progression will no longer reset between Seasons. Instead, as you level up you’ll earn new types of Rocket Pass Presents that reward previous Rocket Pass Items and in-game currency.

Rocket Pass Present types include Boost, Decal, Explosion, Topper, Wheel, Vanity (Pulls from Banners, Avatars, Quick Chats Stickers, and Titles), SP, and Tokens.

Season Presents can be bought at the new Token Shop with tokens, a new currency earned by levelling up your Rocket Pass and completing Weekly Challenges.

As you level up in Rocket Pass, you’ll also earn new Badge Borders that show off your career progression on the Rocket Pass Tab. A new Collection Tab also helps you keep track of your rewards.

From Season 7 onwards, Rocket League Sideswipe seasons will be shorter, lasting eight weeks. As a result, ranks will now reset to the first tier of the rank reached at the end of the previous season.

New items

The first week of Season 7 sees the Item Shop revamped with new items including the Sky Blue Quartz Goal Explosion, Orange Halo Topper, and MG-88 Octane Decal.

Ranked 3v3 returns

Season 7 also sees the return of ranked 3v3 matches with two teams of six players battling it out in flying rocket-powered cars.

To accommodate the larger teams, ranked 3v3 matches take place in the Longfield Arena.
