Next F1 23 deep dive reveal date announced

F1 game season is upon us. With the European leg of the Formula 1 season getting underway and summer approaching, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of F1 23.

Last week Codemasters gave players a look at the handling and gameplay changes that would be coming to F1 23. Codemasters has laid out a roadmap of reveals for F1 23, and this week should see a Braking Point 2 & F1 World deep dive. But not any more.

Update - Next F1 23 deep dive dropping later today

Originally scheduled for last Friday, EA has announced the next F1 23 deep dive will drop later today.

While the last deep dive focused on F1 23's improved handling and new circuits, today's will focus on Braking Point 2 and new features in F1 World. Details about F1 23's overhauled online multiplayer will also be shared.

The Braking Point 2 and F1 World deep dive will premiere on YouTube at 4 pm BST, so there's not long to wait.

F1 23 deep dive called off

Formula 1 was meant to be racing around Imola this weekend for the catchily named Formula 1 Qatar Airways Gran Premio del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia-Romagna 2023. However, due to severe & deadly flooding in the region, Formula 1 took the tricky but correct decision to call off the race.

This has led to a pause in communication from Codemasters around F1 23, as they followed suit and announced their planned deep dive would be postponed.

Naturally some fans are disappointed, especially given that F1 World is a totally new mode that we currently know little about. Once the race was called off though, the decision from Codemasters & EA to pause their F1 23 communications was inevitable.

One thing that will still be going ahead this weekend is the closed F1 23 playtest, as the wheels for that have been in motion for a while and cannot be stopped without impacting the game itself.

When will we get the deep dive?

Codemasters hasn't detailed exactly when we will be getting the information that was originally planned for this Friday. With creators & media getting hands-on opportunities with F1 23 at the end of May, per Codemasters' publicised roadmap, there isn't much space in their calendar to put the news out.

That means we could get it as early as Monday 22 May, but it could also bleed into the Monaco Grand Prix race weekend which is next on the calendar and runs from 26-28 May.

F1 23 release date

The official F1 23 release date is set for 16 June, the earliest in a season that Codemasters has ever put the game out. Players can get their hands on the game even earlier though, as the Champions Edition comes with three days early access. That means you can get racing on 13 June.

Of course, you will have to pay a bit more for the privilege, but the Champions Edition also comes with a whole host of extras:

  • Limited time Las Vegas Content (for pre-orders before 31 May)
  • Max Verstappen Race Wear Pack
  • Braking Point 2 Icons
  • Braking Point 2 Vanity Items
  • Dual Entitlement (for PlayStation & Xbox)
  • Four new My Team Icons
  • XP boost
  • F1 World Bumper Pack
  • 18,000 PitCoins
