Last month’s EA Sports WRC update added the new Central Europe Rally to the calendar but also introduced a frustrating glitch. Some players were unable to resume their career saves without crashing the game and potentially corrupting their save files.
To make matters worse, EA Sports confirmed at the time that a patch update fixing the career mode wouldn’t be available until mid-January, preventing players from progressing through the career for several weeks. Thankfully, EA Sports WRC’s latest patch is launching today to repair the broken career mode.
Career mode crashes resolved
Available from 18 January at 11 am UTC, EA Sports WRC update 1.4.1 resolves the career mode bug. This means players who have already started a career can resume progress without the game crashing and corrupting save files.
In addition, the update also fixes an issue where the AI would slow down significantly when resuming a career or championship. Elsewhere, update 1.4.1 improves the performance and reduces screen tearing on consoles.
While these fixes and improvements are welcome, Codemasters is already working on the next patch, which is expected to arrive towards the end of Season 2. This could potentially add VR support to the PC version as EA Sports previously confirmed VR is coming in a free update this Spring.
You can find out more details about the update in the EA Sports WRC update 1.4.1 patch notes below. Will you be returning to EA Sports WRC now that the career mode bug is fixed? Let us know in the comments below.
