EA Sports WRC is coming to Xbox. A new developer and publisher for the official World Really Championship game in EA and Codemasters have come to the table in 2023, but the WRC series is continuing on Xbox.

The Xbox Series X | S will be seeing EA Sports WRC released on it soon, but what about the Xbox One? Will the last-gen system also be getting the WRC treatment?

We've got the answer to that and a whole lot more questions in this article. We've got everything you need to know about EA Sports WRC on Xbox right here!

EA Sports WRC Xbox

EA Sports WRC will be released on the next-gen Xbox Series X | S later this month. EA will also be releasing their WRC game on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC.

This is the official WRC game of the 2024 season, so it'll have all of the official cars, drivers, teams, rallies and stages from this year's championship. Like its predecessors, classic content will also be included as well.

With the title being available on Series X | S, it'll be able to be played in Full 4K and up to 60 FPS if your TV/ Monitor can handle those output settings.

On Xbox Series X, EA Sports WRC will run in 4K resolution and target 60fps. In a Reddit post, EA confirmed that “some parts of the game will use different or dynamic resolutions for optimisation purposes” Graphics are said to be “essentially equivalent to High settings on PC” on Xbox Series X.

The Xbox Series S version will run at a lower 1440p resolution but still targets 60fps. However, the graphics settings are “equivalent to Medium or Low” according to EA.

EA Sports WRC Xbox One

So, EA Sports WRC will be released on Series X | S, but what about the last-gen Xbox One? Well, WRC Generations was available on the last-gen systems, including the Xbox One.

However, EA and Codemasters have made EA Sports WRC a next-gen exclusive, so it's not being released on the One or PlayStation 4. There's also been no news on when or if the game will come to Nintendo Switch.

The reasoning behind this will be that EA will want to ensure that EA Sports WRC is fully optimised for the next-gen systems and not be "held back" by the One. It's also very unlikely that the game will ever come to Xbox One, either.

So, if you haven't upgraded to Series X | S yet, you'll need to in order to play the new WRC game. Either that, or you'll need to keep playing WRC Generations.
