  • Quick Answer: Euro Truck Simulator 2's 1.62 update launched November 5, 2026, with new garages, three DAF XG+ editions, and upgraded Iveco S-Way interiors.

SCS Software released Euro Truck Simulator 2's 1.62 update on Steam on November 5 after two weeks in open beta. The headline change replaces every truck garage on the base map and across all map DLCs with a new model.

Three special editions of the DAF XG+, Improved Material System support for the Iveco S-Way, and a longer playlist for the stream-safe Escape radio station round out the patch.

The feature list is shorter than what 1.60 and 1.61 delivered, and SCS has explained why. Replying to players on the official forum during the beta, an SCS staff member said upcoming DLC relies on map editor and engine improvements made after 1.61 shipped. "Without this new patch the DLC just won't work technically," the post read. The Iceland DLC arrives on November 10, with Coaches following on November 12.

Every Truck Garage on the Map Has Been Rebuilt

SCS has replaced the garage models on the base map and in every map DLC, redoing both interiors and exteriors. The studio says the new buildings bring greater attention to detail and a more modern, immersive feel, mirroring the garage refresh American Truck Simulator received in update 1.58.

When it revealed the feature on October 8, SCS said that "after many years, we felt it was time to bring them up to date." The overhaul runs alongside the studio's wider effort to modernize older parts of the map. The Benelux rework is the most recently completed of those projects, and work on the UK is underway.

"Bringing these new garages to the game while keeping their performance cost in check compared to the older models was no small task," SCS wrote in the release notes.

DAF Marks 30 Years in Czechia With a Special XG+

Three new configurations of the DAF XG+ arrive free in the base game, and the most detailed of them celebrates DAF's 30 years in the Czech Republic. The 30 Years in Czechia Edition wears traditional royal orange paint with anniversary logos. Up front, a black air intake grille with painted trim is paired with a matching black sunshield, and the roof lights can be black or left standard.

A black anniversary badge sits beneath the XG+ side badge. The black DAF badge is linked to the engine power configuration and can be switched back to the original silver. Exclusive rear wheel covers, black wheel nuts with matching caps, and an illuminated DAF logo finish the exterior.

Inside, the edition gets a "Czech 30th Anniversary" interior built specifically for the XG+ cab. Seats come in black leather or Alcantara with orange diamond-pattern stitching and embroidered DAF 30 logos. The upper bunk is trimmed in Alcantara with a subtle gray pattern inspired by the Czech flag.

Emerald and Sapphire Editions Join the XG+ Lineup

The other two editions are built around color. The Emerald Edition is finished in a green SCS calls Forest Dawn, with an exclusive Emerald side badge and coordinated exterior and interior finishes. The Sapphire Edition pairs Sapphire Blue paint with its own set of matching accessories.

SCS's release notes say both editions come with specially designed interiors, though the studio has only published detailed interior specifications for the Emerald and 30 Years in Czechia versions.

Improved Material System Reaches the Iveco S-Way

The Improved Material System continues its truck-by-truck rollout with the Iveco S-Way. The system changes how cab materials respond to light, so leather, fabric, plastic, and metal are easier to tell apart even in dim conditions.

The DAF NGD and MAN TG3 TGX were the first to receive it in update 1.60, and 1.61 extended it to the Volvo FH Series 4, 5, and 6.

Game Radio's Escape Station Gets 11 New Songs

Game Radio, which arrived in update 1.60, gets a playlist change. SCS has pulled tracks from the Escape station that were causing copyright problems and added 11 new songs, bringing its runtime closer to the rest of the lineup.

Escape is the lo-fi, jazz-leaning channel of the five, and it is the one built for recording and streaming. "As the only stream-safe station in our in-game radio lineup, Escape is a great choice for content creators," SCS said.

Owners of the paid Goodyear Tyres Pack DLC will find its paint jobs now carry Goodyear's latest logo, with slightly adjusted colors. No new tires were added.

Light Flares and Coaches Groundwork Appear in the Beta Notes

Several changes show up only in the beta build notes rather than the release post. Rear and brake light flares were tweaked during the beta, and map fixes point toward the Coaches DLC, including work on a new bus station in Novi Sad, Serbia, and on the bus station in Dortmund, Germany.

Controller players get new impulses in the Steam controller definition and legacy Steam Input mode. Navigation no longer shows a wrong ETA after leaving the planned route. Smaller map fixes land on Finland's Highway 18, around Falun and Borlänge in Sweden, and in Tirana, Albania.

Iceland and Coaches Arrive Next Week

Iceland launches November 10 with 14 cities and settlements, among them Reykjavík and Akureyri, linked by the Ring Road. Its industries include the Straumsvík aluminum smelter, the Sundahöfn container port, and a silica plant in Húsavík.

Special Transport DLC owners get four new routes on the island, which bring the Articulated Dumper over from American Truck Simulator.

Coaches follow on November 12 with the licensed Scania Touring, Volvo 9700 DD, and MAN Lion's Coach. The Multi-Function Display and new menu that SCS held back from 1.61 for more polish are still absent in 1.62, and 1.63 has not been announced.

The update downloads automatically through Steam. Players who joined the open beta should switch from the public_beta branch back to the default version to stay compatible with everyone else in Convoy.
