The release of F1 2021 is just days away! As racers around the world wait for the new game to become available, Codemasters has lifted the lid on the F1 2021 driver ratings.
With the Formula 1 crown more hotly contested this season than we have seen for some time, just how will Codemasters and EA rate the 20 drivers?
Let's take a look!
Hamilton vs Verstappen
The seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton has found himself behind in the championship to Max Verstappen following his longest run without a win since 2016.
Red Bull's star man is leading a single-seater championship for the first time in his career and relishing his time at the top, but how has Codemasters rated the two for F1 2021? Equally!!
That's right, both Verstappen and Hamilton are getting a massive 95 overall score from Codemasters. That is higher than any of the seven Icons included in the Deluxe Edition bundle too.
While Lewis has the experience edge on Verstappen, Codemasters gives the young Dutchman the better racecraft and awareness rating. Hamilton just beats Verstappen on pace though.
Rest of the field
Behind the two juggernauts of F1, the rest of the ratings are littered with talking points. The first one being the perhaps generous 92 overall that Valtteri Bottas gets.
Valtteri is having a miserable season, both thanks to some bad luck but also just some bizarre weekends where his pace disappears.
Behind Bottas is a gaggle of young, hungry drivers. Lando Norris (91), Pierre Gasly (90), and Charles Leclerc (88) are all hot on the heels of HAM VER BOT and ready to break the status quo.
There are some impressive veterans too though, as Daniel Ricciardo (90), Fernando Alonso (89), and Sebastian Vettel (89) all get good ratings.
