Will F1 2021 be available on next-gen?
Yep.
Codemasters missed a trick with their flagship title with the previous upgrade to new consoles. The first Formula 1 game on PS4 and Xbox One was F1 2015, almost two years after their release.
For the Official Formula 1 game to stay relevant, it has to be on the most advanced home consoles available. Dirt 5, another Codemasters title, was released on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and now F1 2021 will be too.
Other major sporting games such as FIFA and NBA have already been released on next-gen too, so F1 simply has to follow suit.
What about old-gen?
Traditionally, when a new generation of consoles is introduced, there is a transition time where games are released on both iterations of home systems - and that's the case here as well.
Standard Edition
The standard 'vanilla' version of the game will be available across PC, PlayStation and Xbox - coming in at £59.99 in the UK across consoles (including next-generation) and £49.99 on Steam.
If it’s released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the standard edition of F1 2021 will likely cost £49.99 in the UK.
For next-gen, F1 2021’s standard edition will cost £54.99 in the UK for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.
Special Edition
F1 2020 had a “Seventy Edition” for its Special Edition. Codemasters could brand this version as something else unique for F1 2021, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
The special edition includes everything in the standard edition as well as unique car liveries, in-game racing apparel and a podium celebration.

Deluxe Edition
There's all sorts of little extras that come with this year's Deluxe Edition of the game. That includes seven iconic drivers for use in My Team, customisation content, 18,000 PitCoins, the Braking Point Content Pack, and three days of early access.
This edition comes in at £74.99 across PlayStation and Xbox, and £64.99 on Steam.
