A new era of F1 games starts this year. The first F1 game under EA’s influence, F1 22 promises to be the biggest shake-up for over a decade,” with new rules and regulations affecting the car handling. As a result, the cars in F1 22 will be noticeably more challenging to drive.

Since F1 22 was announced in April, Codemasters has released multiple trailers showcasing the redesigned F1 cars and new features.

Features Trailer

In the most revealing look at this year's F1 game yet, Codemasters has released a new F1 22 Features Trailer. We finally get a first look at the F1 Life social hub and driveable supercars in action.

The trailer also showcases everything from formation laps and sprint races to pit stops and the new immersive pit stop mode.

Miami Grand Prix reveal trailer

Ahead of the inaugural Miami Grand Prix, Codemasters dropped a trailer showing F1 22’s accurate recreation of the Miami International Autodrome. This was our first look at actual F1 22 gameplay footage. We also had a hands-on to see if the first-ever Miami Grand Prix lives up to expectations.

F1 22’s announcement trailer wasn't very revealing. Lasting just 29 seconds, the trailer didn’t show any gameplay footage or offer a look at F1 22’s new headline features.

F1 Life

One of F1 22’s headline new features is F1 Life. This new mode allows players to customise a personal hub where trophies and supercars can be displayed for other players to admire. You can also customise your driver avatar with apparel from real clothing brands.

For the first time in the series, F1 22 features driveable supercars including the McLaren 720S. Supercars can be driven in time trials or the new Pirelli Hot Laps mode offering driving challenges to complete between races.

Release date

F1 22 releases on 1 July on multiple platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Players can also get early access on 28 June by preordering the deluxe Champions Edition.
