It's an exciting time for F1 fans as this weekend marks the inaugural Miami Grand Prix. To celebrate, Codemasters and EA have released a new F1 22 trailer showcasing the Miami International Autodrome circuit in-game for the first time.
First look at Miami International Autodrome
Notably, the new trailer shows the first actual footage of F1 22 captured from the game engine after the CG announcement trailer. We get a first look at the Miami International Autodrome circuit as well as the new car liveries created for this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.
With 19 corners and three DRS zones, there should be plenty of overtaking opportunities at the new Miami street circuit. Reflecting this year’s rule changes, F1 22 will feature a new physics, tyre, and handling model.
At the end of the trailer, we also get a sneak peek at supercars in F1 22, with a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of a McLaren 720S speeding around a corner. Supercars can be driven in F1 22's new Pirelli Hot Laps mode and displayed in the new F1 Life mode.
F1 22 cover revealed
As well as releasing the new trailer, EA and Codemasters have also announced that current championship leader Charles Leclerc is now an EA Sports ambassador. The Ferrari driver is F1 22’s cover star alongside McLaren's Lando Norris and Mercedes’ George Russell.
"F1 22 is celebrating the best young talent in F1, and we are excited to build a deeper relationship with Charles Leclerc. Established as part of the new era of Formula 1, we will work with Charles throughout the season to bring our players closer to the action," said Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.
"We're also proud to celebrate our former World Champions with the F1 22 Champions Edition. They continue to inspire the next generation of drivers, and it's an honour to have them together on the cover of our digital-only version."
Champions Edition
Players can also pre-order the Champions Edition now, which celebrates the four World Champions on this year's grid: Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, and Max Verstappen.
Additional content in the Champions Edition includes a time-limited Miami influenced pack inspired by the city’s iconic skyline and lights and three days early access.
Release date
As for the release date, F1 22 will release on 1 July for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
