You can drive supercars in F1 22

Officially announced by EA yesterday, F1 22 is touted as the “biggest shake-up for over a decade” for the series. One of F1 22’s most surprising new features is the F1 Life mode replacing F1 2021’s Braking Point story mode.

Simulating the lavish lifestyle of an F1 driver, this new mode allows you to collect and display clothing and supercars earned through progression in a customisable hub. As leaked by Tom Henderson, the F1 22 supercars are also driveable.

Unlocked supercars can be driven in F1 22’s Pirelli Hot Laps mode. This new mode allows you to take the F1 22 supercars for a spin on F1 tracks.

Little is known about the Pirelli Hot Laps mode yet, but reliable leaker Tom Henderson claims the F1 22 supercars are only driveable in offline time trials and F1 Life.

Don’t get your hopes up about racing supercars online in F1 22, then. According to Henderson, the F1 22 supercars were originally going to be driveable online, but Formula One Management reportedly wanted to scale back the supercar content.

EA showed the first glimpse of supercars in F1 22 with a brief shot of the McLaren 720S speeding around a corner in the Miami circuit showcase trailer.
