Following last week's unusual teaser trailer revealing the fictional Konnersport F1 team, EA is gearing up to reveal F1 23 this week.
Before then, EA has revealed the F1 23 cover art, with Max Verstappen gracing the Champions Edition cover.
While fans were hoping for a full reveal today after last week's teaser, the F1 23 announcement trailer will arrive later this week.
F1 23 cover art reveal reveal
Ahead of the full reveal, EA has revealed the cover art for the F1 23 Champions Edition. Two-time champion Max Verstappen is the cover star of the digital-only Champions Edition.
By contrast, last year's F1 22’s Champions Edition cover featured Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel, and Fernando Alonso.
The Standard Edition will star Charles Leclerc alongside seven-times World Champion Lewis Hamilton and McLaren’s Lando Norris.
F1 23 Champions Edition confirmed
This is also the first time EA has confirmed that F1 23 is getting a deluxe Champions Edition. We'll have to find out until the full reveal to find out what it contains, but it should include similar content to last year's game.
Last year's game included MyTeam Icons as well as Dual Entitlement, 13k PitCoins and three days early access.
It’s not surprising to see Max Verstappen grace the Champions Edition cover. The Dutch Red Bull driver is dominating the 2023 season, leading the driver’s championship by 15 points ahead of Sergio Perez, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.
Earlier this year EA announced a partnership with Verstappen that will see the two-time champion “create content across the EA Sports portfolio.” The EA Sports logo is also prominently shown on his helmet.
F1 23 trailer reveal date
If you were hoping for a full reveal today, you'll have to wait a few more days. EA has confirmed the F1 23 reveal trailer will be released on 3 May, 4 pm BST.
In just a few days, we'll finally get our first look at F1 23 and hopefully find out the release date. EA is certainly dragging out the reveal, with multiple teasers preceding the cover art reveal.
As for what to expect in F1 23, leaked details from Insider Gaming suggests this year’s F1 game will introduce a new R&D system where you earn car upgrades by winning races, as well as the return of Braking Point and a new multiplayer mode known as F1 World replacing F1 Life.
