It’s the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix this weekend, and to celebrate F1 23 will be free to play for everyone this weekend on all platforms. If you still haven’t tried it, this is a golden opportunity to experience this year’s F1 game and take a virtual tour of the new Las Vegas Strip circuit to find out if it lives up to the hype.
F1 23 free play weekend
From 16 – 20 November, everyone can play F1 23 for free on all platforms including PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. On PlayStation and Xbox, F1 23’s free play weekend starts on at 10:00pm UTC on 15 November and ends at 8:00pm UTC 20 November.
Steam users can play F1 23 for free from 6:00pm UTC on 16 November until 6:00pm UTC on 20 November 20.
Those who haven’t tried F1 23 yet can experience F1 23’s new Braking Point 2.0 story mode and F1 World, as well as the new Las Vegas Grand Prix Circuit racing through the famous Las Vegas Strip. There’s no time limit either, so you can play F1 23 for as long as you like between 16 and 20 November.
Huge F1 23 discount
For those who want to keep playing after the trial and decide to buy the game, F1 23 will be up to 60% off RRP throughout the free play weekend. That’s a massive discount and the biggest price drop yet, so don’t miss out if you’ve been sitting on the fence about buying F1 23. All progress and unlocked content will carry over from the trial, too.
Las Vegas GP rewards
Players who race this weekend will also earn double XP and can earn Las Vegas-themed rewards by logging in daily from 16 – 18 November.
To coincide with the Las Vegas Grand Prix, F1 23 will also feature new in-game events, including a new Pro Challenge with Charles Leclerc taking on the new Las Vegas street circuit and an F1 World Scenario Event with Lewis Hamilton.
That’s not all, as players can also unlock Ferrari’s Golden Era livery from 20 November to 11 December, paying homage to the first golden era of Formula 1 in America.
What time does the Las Vegas Grand Prix start?
The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix kicks off on Saturday, November 18 10pm PT / Sunday, November 19 6am GMT with 50 laps. In a shake-up to the F1 calendar, this will be the first Grand Prix race on a Saturday since the 1985 South African GP. It will also be the first time F1 has hosted a Grand Prix in Las Vegas since the Caesars Palace Grand Prix in 1981 and 1982.
In a recent video, Daniel Ricciardo gives a sneak peek at the new US circuit. Later this week, Max Verstappen will give three-time World Champion Anthony Joshua a tour of the Las Vegas Strip circuit in another video.
At 6.12 kilometres (3.8 miles) long with three straights and 17 corners, the Las Vegas Strip circuit is a fast-flowing track, with an estimated top speed of 212 mph and plenty of flat out corners. You can find the perfect Las Vegas setup here.
“Las Vegas is an iconic venue which takes in one of the most famous stretches of tarmac in the world,” said Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.
“I’ve loved watching the team build such a wonderful virtual recreation of the vibrance and energy of the Strip. We have been honoured to bring this new circuit to F1 23 for players everywhere to enjoy ahead of the real-world Grand Prix, and we hope everyone has as much fun as Daniel Ricciardo when they take on Sin City in-game this week.”
