Mainly used for motorcycle racing, the Losail International Circuit is full of twists and turns like no other F1 track. Our F1 23 Qatar will see you sail around Losail.
Update: If you're looking for F1 24 setups, you can find the best F1 24 Qatar setup here.
F1 23 Qatar setup
Set on a flat plain in Qatar, the Losail International Circuit is 16 corners of thrilling driving. Making its F1 series debut this year, it's crucial to get the setup right for this unique but challenging track.
Just like the tyre compounds during the Qatar Grand Prix this year, there have been several changes to the perfect setup since F1 23 was released. With that in mind, here's our updated F1 23 Qatar setup.
Aerodynamics
We recommend 41-37 for the aerodynamic setup.
This will help you handle the constant cornering of Qatar, whilst still giving you the required speed down the straight sections.
Transmission
We've gone with 55% on-throttle and 52% off-throttle for the differentials.
This will allow you to get around the corners well and be confident of getting on the throttle. Just be careful when throttling away from the slower corners as it may result in a spin.
Suspension geometry
You want to use -2.50 for the front camber and -1.00 for the rear camber. This will assist in cornering whilst keeping the car quick on the straights.
Front toe should be set to 0.00 and rear toe is 0.10. This will also give that extra kick of speed both in the straights and round the corners.
Suspension
We are going with 41-14 for the suspension and 12-4 for the anti-roll bars. This will give a very pointy car, letting you get into the corners well, but it's not so loose at the back that you will be losing control.
Ride height is set to 34-38. This will let you ride the kerbs of Qatar without damaging the floor, while the rake adds to the pointiness of the car.
Brakes
100% brake pressure with 54% brake bias is ideal for Qatar.
This is because you'll be doing a lot of dabs on the brakes rather than braking heavily. Locking up is possible with this setup so feel free to adjust the brake bias accordingly.
Tyres
We've gone with 22.9 PSI on the fronts, while the rears are set to 20.4 PSI.
This will keep the grip levels high throughout the lap but may require extra weaving on the out lap to get heat into the rubber.
Adjustments
These setups are intended for intermediate players who may still be using assists like traction control and ABS. However, if you are looking for an extra edge then you can try a few of these adjustments:
- Decrease the wing levels by 1-3 clicks to improve top speed
- This will make the car less capable on turn-in and less stable in high-speed direction changes
- If the car doesn't feel like it is doing what you want on turn-in then raise the front wing a click or two
- If the car is too loose at low speeds try moving the off-throttle differential up a point or two for more stability
- For a more "pointy" car stiffen the front suspension & anti-roll bar in relation to the rear
- This will make getting traction trickier
- Don't be afraid to move brake bias during the lap. More frontward will give better performance in heavy braking zones, and a rearward for lighter braking zones
- Lockups are easier to achieve in F1 23 than in previous games. Front locking is less catastrophic than rear locking, and which way you go from our mark will increase your chances of a lockup in that direction
- Add a click of tyre pressure for short online races to improve tyre warm-up!
