Forza Horizon 5 patch delayed as players grow frustrated over bugs

Forza Horizon 5 has picked up rave reviews, but the game is not without its issues.

We praised the game for its beautiful and rich setting and the sheer volume of features and events. But like with many modern games, some problems weren't discovered before release. When can we expect to see a patch?

The problems with Forza Horizon 5

The list of acknowledged known issues has grown to be very long. Many of them are quite minor, but still irritating for players. Other problems cause the game to crash or the player to have to quit, losing progress. The Reddit Forza group is increasingly seeing posts with titles such as "I officially hate this broken mess they call a game" where players vent their frustrations.

Forza Horizon 5 is a spectacular game, but it hasn't had the smoothest launch

Losing progress seems to be the top complaint, but PC players in particular are finding many graphical issues and also wheel players are still frequently finding their hardware can disconnect from the game. Online play, even in freeroam, has also been far from easy. When your server connection drops, your car usually stops dead and causes you to lose your skill chain or fail the PR stunt you're attempting. One Reddit user bmandudeman satirised this in a livery:

It's fair to say that these problems need fixing soon before the developers start losing the goodwill of the playerbase.

Patch delayed again

We've been expecting a patch for Forza Horizon 5 for over a week now. Yesterday we heard that it has again been delayed. There's been no further news through the in-game message centre or on the Forza website.

Forza Horizon 5 is fundamentally a very good game. That said, beautiful map design and fantastic cars don't override problems that are breaking the game for some. We'll continue to bring you news as Forza Horizon 5 is updated!
