Update 1.61 for Gran Turismo 7 is officially coming on July 25, 2025, at 10 PM PT, and it will be delivering some exciting content drops for PS4 and PS5 players.

This patch will continue the game's tradition of monthly updates, and it will add three unique vehicles, all from completely different automobile segments: motorsport classics, JDM hot hatches, and future EVs.

The first vehicle introduced by Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.61 will be the Toyota GT-One (TS020), a long-awaited Le Mans prototype that was created for endurance racing.

The GT-One is a beast that is distinguished by its sleek shape, big rear wing, and high-speed downforce. It's an addition that enhances GT7's fleet of high-performance race cars by bringing more variety to players who enjoy competing in high-speed, aero-intensive events.

The Honda Civic Type R (EK9), a 1990s legend from the golden period of JDM hot hatches, will be the second addition. The EK9 will be the first Civic to bear the Type R badge and is appreciated for its sporty chassis and rev-happy VTEC engine. Its arrival fills a significant gap in GT7's Japanese car offerings.

The last addition of this update is the Tesla Model Y, and it represents the GT7's evolving electric vehicle portfolio. This EV is a compact crossover that offers impressive acceleration and a modern aesthetic.

While this car may not have the same nostalgia and background associated with the GT-One and the Type R Honda Civic, its addition symbolizes the transition towards electric performance in real-world racing and daily driving alike.

While Update 1.61 mainly focuses on these three new cars, it could also include some quality-of-life improvements, new races tied to the new vehicles, and possibly engine swaps or scrapes.
