We finally have a new Gran Turismo game after years of waiting but jumping on with your friends isn't so simple, here's how to unlock multiplayer in Gran Turismo 7.
We all want to play online, be it to race against friends or just show off our skills to the rest of the world. But you can't just do it straight from the off in GT7. You need to do something first.
How to unlock multiplayer in Gran Turismo 7
Most racing games immediately give you the option of diving into the career mode or jumping into the multiplayer to race against others. That's not the case with GT7.
Gran Turismo 7 locks multiplayer away for players and forces you to play through a portion of the campaign in order to unlock it.
That's no bad thing given that you need some cars to go racing with in multiplayer! But it does mean you'll have to put some time in to get it.
Thankfully, it's not that long.
Grinding menus
Gran Turismo 7's campaign mode centres around completing menus from the GT Cafe. These give you the route to unlocking tracks, picking up new cars, and earning credits.
You'll naturally be completing menus as you go, since this is your only path to getting access to new tracks and free cars.
You'll need to complete Menu Book No. 9 "Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade" in order to unlock multiplayer on your World Map.
This is where you can set up or find a relaxed lobby, and play two-player split-screen.
This point of the campaign is also where you unlock Sport Mode, the ranked and highly competitive part of online multiplayer in Gran Turismo 7.
