The release of Project Motor Racing is around the corner, and Straight4 Studios has now confirmed several new additions to the highly anticipated GTE Decade Pack, including a pre-order bonus DLC that will also be available to purchase separately after launch.

The sim racer, scheduled to release on November 25, will come with a wide selection of cars, but endurance racing enthusiasts are particularly interested in the GTE class's comeback. With the latest announcement, we know more about which icons of the category are making the cut.

When the pack was first revealed earlier this year, only the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GTE (2020) was confirmed. Now, four more cars have joined the list, bringing the total to 5 models so far:

  • Aston Martin Vantage AMR GTE (2020)
  • Chevrolet Corvette C7.R (2017)
  • Chevrolet Corvette C8.R (2020)
  • Ford GT LM GTE (2019)
  • Porsche 911 RSR GTE (2020)

With Ferrari and BMW the most likely contenders, there are still two more GTE vehicles that need to be unveiled before launch.

Corvette Generational Shift

One of the most significant developments in the brand's racing history is highlighted by the Corvette pairing. The C8.R signaled the transition to a mid-engined layout, whereas the C7.R was the final front-engined GTE Corvette, famous for its classic V8 growl.

The C8.R went on to dominate in IMSA, winning numerous championships and even taking home the final WEC LMGTE Am title in 2023, demonstrating that the alteration had an impact on both appearance and performance.

Ford and Porsche Icons

The Ford GT LM GTE returns as one of the most memorable endurance races of its era, popular for its controversial road car homologation and standout victories, including Le Mans 2016 and Daytona 2017.

Meanwhile, the Porsche 911 RSR (2020) is equally iconic. Unlike its going counterpart, this RSR moved the engine to the middle, offering it a unique balance and unforgettable soundtrack that further carried the GTE category into its final years before the class ended in 2023.
