The Crew Motorfest Looks Surprisingly Good on PS4 and Xbox One

We’re now just a week away from The Crew Motorfest’s early access launch. While comparisons are being drawn between The Crew Motorfest and Forza Horizon, Ubisoft’s open world has a huge advantage: it’s multiplatform. Not only is The Crew Motorfest coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, but it’s also launching on PS4 and Xbox One.

It makes sense from a business perspective. After all, the PS4 and Xbox One are still popular, but the ancient hardware is showing its age. For players who haven’t upgraded yet, Ubisoft has shared footage of The Crew Motorfest on PS4 and Xbox One – and it looks better than anyone expected.

The Crew Motorfest PS4 and Xbox One gameplay revealed

On X (formerly known on Twitter), the official The Crew Motorfest page has shared gameplay footage of The Crew Motorfest running on PS4 and Xbox One.

Clocking in at just over three minutes, the clip shows a variety of vehicles and locations from single-seaters tearing up the track to SUVs tackling treacherous off-road terrain.

Understandably, graphical cutbacks have been made to get The Crew Motorfest running on PS4 and Xbox One. Visual fidelity is reduced and the game runs at a lower, but stable, 30fps frame rate.

All things considered, The Crew Motorfest looks and performs surprisingly well on PS4 and Xbox One – especially when you consider these machines are now ten years old.

PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players will of course get the best experience, with a higher 60fps frame rate and more detailed graphics. But it’s reassuring for players who haven’t upgraded to the current-gen consoles to know they can still enjoy The Crew Motorfest without too many compromises.

Credit where credit is due: most developers don’t bother showing their games running on older hardware.
