As we approach the end of April, the next Gran Turismo 7 content update is on the horizon. Following Kazunori Yamauchi's teaser on Twitter, Polyphony has revealed the contents of the Gran Turismo 7 April update, and there's a lot for players to look forward to.
GT7's April update (update 1.32) will add four new cars to the roster along with new GT Cafe Menu books, Scape locations, and a new World Circuit race. Let's take a closer look at what the April update has in store.
UPDATE: The Gran Turismo Update 1.32 patch notes are now live, check out all the changes here
Four new cars coming in Gran Turismo 7 April update
After Yamauchi's teased their silhouettes, a PlayStation Blog post details the Gran Turismo 7 April update in full, confirming that four new cars are joining GT7's ever-expanding roster this week.
One of the highlights is the 1992 Jaguar XJ220 returning from Gran Turismo 6. One of the fastest analogue supercars of the 1990s, the XJ220 was a formidable rival to the Ferrari F40.
We can't wait to take it for a spin in GT7 - especially after the recent physics update. Jaguar's supercar will likely only be available on rotation in the Legend Car dealership with an extortionate price tag.
Along with the Jaguar XJ220, the April update will also add the Mercedes-AMG GT3 '20 plus the Dallara SF23 Super Formula/Toyota '23 and Dallara SF23 Super Formula/Honda '23. Players asking for more racecars in GT7 should be happy with this month's update.
You'll be able to race the Dallara SF23 in a new Super Formula World Circuits race being added in the April update.
Polyphony partners with Super Formula
We've known for a while that the Dallara SF23 is coming in the GT7 April update.
Earlier this month, Polyphony Digital announced a partnership with Super Formula that will see the Dallara SF23 race car join GT7ās car roster. Available in a Red Tiger or White Tiger, the SF23 competes in the 2023 Super Formula season.
Developed in collaboration with Honda and Toyota, the SF23 boasts redesigned front and rear wings, sidepods, and engine cover for enhanced aerodynamics.
To lower carbon emissions, the bodywork is also made of a bio-composite material instead of carbon fibre.
There will also be a livery contest where players can create a livery based on the colours of each Super Formula team.
New GT Cafe Menus and Scapes
Along with the four new cars, update 1.32 will add two new GT CafƩ Menus: Extra Menu No. 20 asks you to collect Shelbys, but you'll need to have a Collector Level of 41 or above to access it.
Extra Menu No. 21 focuses on collecting Alpine sports cars and requires Collector Level 35.
In addition, update 1.32 will add two new Scape locations for virtual photographers: North Yorkshire and Miyazaki.
Sadly, there are no new circuits or track layouts included in the April update.
Gran Turismo 7 update 1.32 release date
Gran Turismo 7 updates typically roll out on the last Thursday of the month, and update 1.32 will continue this trend.
Gran Turismo 7 update 1.32 will be released tomorrow, 27 April. The update will download after scheduled server maintenance on 26 April at 23:00 - 00:00 PST/ 27 April 7:00 - 9:00 BST/06:00 - 08:00 UTC.
There could be some other surprises in the update such as physics refinements along with the usual array of bug fixes. We'll find out more details in tomorrow's patch notes and will update this post accordingly.
In the meantime, you can check out this week's GT7 Daily Races, which take us across the globe to France, Japan, and Italy.
