First F1 Manager 2022 PS5 gameplay revealed

We're now just two days away from the launch of F1 Manager 2022. The first officially licensed Formula 1 game in over 20 years will be released on almost every major platform, including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and even last-gen consoles.

Despite this, all official footage released so far is captured from the PC version. With no footage of the console versions available, players are worrying if F1 Manager 2022 will be compromised on consoles.

Ahead of this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix, Frontier Developments has finally released some F1 Manager 2022 PS5 gameplay, showcasing the game running on a console for the first time.

Shared on Twitter, the F1 Manager 2022 PS5 gameplay footage looks at the Belgian GP onboard with AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly, showcasing the game’s authentic presentation and realistic rain effects.

Unfortunately, the footage only lasts a few seconds and has no sound. Even so, the visual quality and performance appear to be on par with the PC. That said, it’s difficult to compare the two versions in the brief footage shown.

Additional F1 Manager 2022 gameplay clips can also be found on the official PlayStation blog showing the pit options screen and the grid lining up for the Belgian Grand Prix.

No F1 Manager 2022 Xbox Series X|S gameplay has been shown yet. It will also be interesting to see how F1 Manager 2022 fares on the last-generation PS4 and Xbox One consoles. These versions will likely run at lower resolutions and a capped 30fps frame rate.

According to the PlayStation Blog, F1 Manager 2022 “offers the same gameplay experience across every platform.” On console, the controls have also been “designed from the ground up to create seamless navigation between menus and racing action.”
