How red flags will work in F1 Manager 2022

With a wealth of team options and broadcast-style race presentation, F1 Manager 2022 promises to be the most authentic F1 management simulation yet.

One aspect of F1 Manager 2022 that is getting fans excited is the inclusion of red flags – something that’s been missing in Codemasters’ F1 games. In F1 2022, unexpected red flag incidents will cause race restarts. This adds an element of unpredictability, forcing you to think on your feet and change your race strategy on the fly.

How red flags will work in F1 Manager 2022

In a social media post, Frontier Developments revealed how red flags will work in F1 Manager 2022.

As the developer explains, on-track incidents and/or a stricken car blocking the track can trigger a red flag. Red flags can also happen during qualifying and practice sessions. The session timer will stop during red flag incidents in qualifying but will continue in practice.

Red flags can occur in F1 Manager 2022, forcing you to rethink your race strategy.

In red flag conditions, the race is paused, with the last completed lap being used for the current classification. Drivers still running will return to the pits while the track is cleared.

With the race halted, players can make some strategic changes to their cars, whether it’s fitting new tyres or replacing damaged parts like a front wing. As Team Principal, it’s your job to use red flag incidents to your advantage.
