F1 24 has now been officially announced, sparking interest in what will and won't be included in the official 2024 F1 game. Whereas My Team, Career Mode and Time Trial are a given, Braking Point is less certain.

So, will Braking Point return in F1 24, and what could the story focus on? We've got everything you need to know right here!

New Career Mode

Before we discuss Braking Point, let's talk about the biggest new feature coming to F1 24.

F1 24's official reveal trailer, revealed the highly-anticipated news regarding the game's Career Mode. Players can now 'Be one of the 20', filling the racing boots of one of the existing drivers on the grid for the first time in the series.

A new reputation system within your team has also been introduced, determining the hierarchy. Success will see your status rise, while failure could result in your teammate taking the recognition instead. This ultimately seals your fate, so it's important to do well each time you hit the track.

Players who don't want to take on the role of an existing F1 driver can still create their own driver or instead begin as an up-and-coming F2 driver. They can even as one of the legendary F1 Icons if they wish to fill the racing boots of their F1 hero.

Will F1 24 have Braking Point?

Braking Point was a surprise and very welcome addition to F1 2021 and F1 23. F1 2021 covered the final Formula 2 season of Aiden Jackson's junior career, as well as his first two F1 seasons in 2020 and 2021.

F1 23's Braking Point continued this, focusing on the 2022 and 2023 seasons. While we've had no official word on Braking Point in F1 24, is it likely to return?

Braking Point is not returning in F1 24. Instead, Jackson's story will most likely be picked up in F1 25 with the story mode so far featuring in alternate yearly releases.

The development time for Braking Point's immersive cut scenes means it's highly unlikely we'll ever see the game mode appear in consecutive games. Braking Point is also outsourced by Codemasters to another studio, with that being another reason why it's not included every year.

So, even if Codemasters wants to bring Braking Point back for 2024, they would likely need to rely on another studio, and doing so brings a lot of risks. It's totally understandable that they'd want to stick to who they know for developing Braking Point.

Who is in Braking Point?

Braking Point is centered around the real-life Formula 1 seasons, so most of the drivers from the actual sport have featured. There are also a number of fictional characters, with the main one being Aiden Jackson.

Jackson is the character you spend most of the story so far playing, taking him from a Formula 2 driver to being competitive in F1. Always looking to cause trouble, Devon Butler is your main rival throughout the game.

Casper Akkerman was your rival in parts of Braking Point, but later became your mentor in F1 23's Braking Point. Other major characters include Callie Mayer, Devon Butler's sister, and their father, Davidoff Butler.
