With the 10 Year Anniversary Series ending next week, the next Forza Horizon 5 Series update is around the corner. During November’s Forza Monthly, Playground Games gave the lowdown on what we can expect in the new Forza Horizon 5 Donut Media series update starting next week.
Forza Horizon 5 Donut Media Series update revealed
We already knew a Donut Media-themed Series is coming to Forza Horizon 5 after James Pumphrey revealed it early in a Donut Media podcast a few months ago. This will be the next Forza Horizon 5 Series starting next week on 12 November.
Headlining the Series update is a five-chapter Horizon Story based on the popular automotive YouTube channel where players build and upgrade cars with Donut Media’s James Pumphrey and Nolan Sykes.
This isn’t their first foray into racing games either, as both James and Nolan lent their voices to DIRT 5. Unlike in DIRT 5, they appear in Forza as in-game characters during cut scenes. Their faces were also scanned and they recorded dialogue for the new Horizon Story, injecting their trademark humour and encyclopaedic car knowledge into Forza Horizon 5.
At the start of the Horizon Story, players can choose either a 1977 Pontiac Firebird, 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R, or 1993 Nissan 240X SE, with the goal of transforming them into a rally car.
Previewing Chapter 2, a short gameplay clip showed a Firebird being converted into a rally car and taken to the Donut Media Test Track - a new location in the Horizon Story where you can upgrade and test drive cars.
After the Horizon Story ends, players can revisit the Donut Media Test Track and use different car builds. Inspired by Donut Media car challenges, Chapter 3 then focuses on setting the fastest time on a dirt track with the modified Firebird.
As for reward cars, the Donut Media Series Progress cars are the Ferrari SF90 Stradale at 80 points and the Alpine A110 ’17 at 160 points.
