Forza Motorsport was last seen back in June at the Microsoft & Bethesda Showcase, where the first gameplay footage was shown and a spring 2023 release window was confirmed.
Since then, rumours have been swirling that Microsoft is kicking off the year with a massive games showcase this month, where Forza Motorsport is expected to make an appearance.
Now, new details about the rumoured showcase event have emerged, suggesting we’ll get a fresh look at Forza Motorsport very soon.
Forza Motorsport rumoured to be shown at Xbox Developer Direct
According to Windows Direct, Microsoft’s January 2023 showcase will be called Developer Direct and offer deep dives into Xbox-exclusive titles coming this year.
Hosted by Xbox and Bethesda, Microsoft’s Developer Direct show is reportedly slated for 25 January at 12 PM PT / 8pm GMT on Xbox's official Twitch and YouTube channels. Keep in mind that these times are subject to change as Microsoft hasn't officially announced the event yet.
As for what to expect to see from Forza Motorsport, new gameplay footage will likely show off previously unseen cars and tracks.
There's a lot we still don't know about Forza Motorsport, so we're also hoping to find out more about the new driving physics, single-player modes, and online multiplayer.
With Forza Motorsport set for a spring release, we should also finally get a firm release date.
In addition to Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Minecraft Legends are among the key titles expected to appear at the event, which is said to be a more “intimate” show in contrast to E3.
Will Forza Horizon 5 Expansion Two also be revealed?
As well as Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5’s second expansion could also be unveiled at the event. The Hot Wheels expansion was released last July, so a new Forza Horizon 5 expansion is long overdue.
Windows Central hasn’t confirmed this, but Playground Games has teased that Forza Horizon 5 Expansion Two will be revealed early this year, so a reveal at Xbox Developer Direct seems likely.
