How to get an F1 car in Gran Turismo Sport

As with all Gran Turismo titles, there are some crazy vehicles that we all aspire to master.

One such category is formula vehicles, which don't often see much representation in GT titles.

So, let's take a look at Formula One cars in Gran Turismo Sport, and how you can go about getting one too!

Formula One in GT Sport

As you might expect given F1 has it's own licensed game, you can't get the full grid of current Formula 1 cars in any Gran Turismo game.

But that doesn't mean old F1 cars aren't around.

HIGH SPEED: GT Sport has some speedy machinery!

While previous GT games, like GT3, had generically named 'Polyphony 001' cars that were based around old F1 cars, GT Sport has a few different options.

F1500T-A

There is the Gran Turismo F1500T-A which is based around F1 cars from the mid-80s.

Visually it looks like those glory days McLarens and brings a huge 986 BHP and a top speed of 222 mph, just don't expect it to stick like a modern F1 car.

Mercedes-AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+

The name is a mouthful but the car is an absolute beast. This is the 2017 Mercedes F1 car that won 12 races in the hands of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.

This car comes with the Mercedes branding or a colour variation for players to go painting on. It has 899 BHP and no defined top speed but should hit 210 mph if you can find a straight long enough.

This car will stick like glue to the track thanks to huge amounts of downforce, and is from the last year of F1 without the halo so still looks like an aggressive and dangerous piece of machinery.

How to get an F1 car

It's pretty simple to get the F1 cars, but it is expensive.

You can buy the Gran Turismo F1500T-A from the Gran Turismo section of Brand Central for 1,000,000 Credits.

GROUP 1: These cars are some true demons, but can they outpace an F1 car?

This car can then be customised with a massive variety of liveries, meaning that you can make the car whichever one you wish.

You can get Lewis Hamilton's 2017 car from the Mercedes-Benz section of Brand Central but for a huge 2,000,000 credits.

Gran Turismo 7

The arrival of Gran Turismo 7 is approaching, with a confirmed release date of 4 March, 2022.

There should be a generic F1 car in GT7, and we can expect something to get added down the line too.
