Is Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged crossplay?

The first Hot Wheels Unleashed game, released in 2021, did not feature crossplay at launch. That meant that players couldn't play online against other players using different systems to them.

So, if you played on Xbox and your friend was on PlayStation, you couldn't be in the game lobbies. However, that changed in 2022, as crossplay was added as a post-launch feature.

Crossplay wasn't available between all systems, with only PlayStation and Xbox platforms having crossplay between each other.

PC players did get crossplay too, but only in the sense that players on Epic Games Store and Steam can play against each other. Nintendo Switch didn't have crossplay.

So, with that in mind, many players were expecting Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 to have crossplay from launch. Thankfully, they were proven to be correct, as crossplay is enabled for Unleashed 2!

Crossplay is more complete this time around, with all systems except for Switch getting crossplay. That means that PC, PlayStation and Xbox gamers all play on the same server.

This extends to user-generated content as well, so, you'll be able to share your best videos and pictures with your friends online.

Crossplay is unlikely to be extended to Switch, as this system has proved to be tricky when integrating to the same servers for other games in recent times.
