Dakar Desert Rally was announced back in December 2021 as a sequel to Dakar 18 with a 2022 release window. As months went by with no updates, fans were starting to wonder if Dakar Desert Rally will still be released in 2022. Fast forward eight months and the Dakar Desert Rally release date has finally been confirmed.

Here’s when you can play the new officially licensed Dakar Rally game and conquer the desert from the comfort of your home.

Portuguese developer Saber Interactive Porto has confirmed that Dakar Desert Rally will be released on 4 October 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

This just happens to be around a week before WRC Generation launches, so October is going to be a great month for off-road racing game fans.

Set in a vast open world in Saudi Arabia, Dakar Desert Rally features over 30 stages filled with hazards and challenging terrain from deserts to rocks. Combine this with a full day and night cycle, dynamic weather system, and over 150 vehicles, and Dakar Desert Rally looks like it will do the license justice.

There is even a roadbook editor allowing you to create your own rally stages and share them with your friends.

As well as the standard edition, there is also a Deluxe Edition with extra content. The Deluxe Edition includes a Season Pass that unlocks the DAF Truck Turbo-Twin and Peugeot 405 Turbo 16 on day one.

In addition, the Season Pass gives access to five DLC packs as they are released, adding a new map, new vehicles, and two new rally events.
