How to boost start in LEGO 2K Drive

Like most kart racers, LEGO 2K Drive has boost starts. This simple yet effective technique gives you a speed boost as you race off the line. But how do you perform a boost start?

At the start of a race, there is a three-to-one countdown. To do a boost start in LEGO 2K Drive, all you need to do is hold the accelerator (R2 on PlayStation/right trigger on Xbox) just after the two appears. This will rev your kart until the announcer says “go.” Time it right, and you’ll get a speed boost off the line.

While boost starts get you off the line faster and give you an advantage, it doesn’t mean you’ll win the race. Thanks to its AI rubber banding, opponents will quickly catch up with you and snatch the lead. This makes winning races in LEGO 2K Drive tricky at times, especially in the later races.
