Latest News - Gamer Review!
Excitingly, MotoGP 21 is now in stores and available for purchase. Of course, we had to let you know what we think of the game also!
With the title being perfect for new and existing fans alike, Milestone have made a real winner with their latest game.
Manage your team
Just like MotoGP 20, you'll not only be a rider, but also owner of a MotoGP/ Moto2/Moto3 team. This means that you'll be able to hire and fire staff and steer the team's R&D Development.
The choice of different series means you can start all the way down in Moto3 and aim for a "road to glory" playthrough. On the flipside, you can jump into the best team and challenge Marc Marquez for the championship.
The entire 2021 19-race calendar will be in MotoGP 21. There is also the potential for some of the reserve circuits to make the cut too.
The full rider roster for these series will be included in MotoGP 21, which also encompasses the teams, sponsors, and liveries.
The addition of Managerial Career for MotoGP 21 will also change single-player up. Allowing you to take a more hands-on approach to the whole team, not just riding!
Gameplay & next-gen
This year will see the MotoGP games make their debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. That means we will see 4K graphics, better textures and faster frame rates than before.
For PS5 as well, we see the full optimisation of the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers too.
If you're worried about whether the quality of MotoGP 21 will suffer because of the jump to next-gen, don't be. Both MXGP 2020 and Ride 4 were excellent games and only benefitted from their next-gen upgrades. Milestone has seemingly mastered the generational crossover.
Another gameplay feature coming to the title is bike retrieval, which will see players having to navigate to their bike manually to get back on and get in the race!
Could MotoE be added?
In Career Mode, you can choose to start your journey in either MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3. This is a large selection and one that many officially licenced games don't match.
However, MotoGP 20 had other series from outside of these three included. Out of these, MotoE is the best candidate to expand to a fourth series in MotoGP Career Mode.
MotoE is the all-electric bike racing series that has been gaining traction in recent seasons since it started in 2019. With a total of 11 teams competing in 2021, the series is continuingly growing and big enough to make for great races.
MotoE also competes on the same circuits that MotoGP does, so Milestone won't have to add new circuits to their roster.
Seven races are currently planned for 2021, which will make for a quick introduction into GP motorcycle racing for the rookies.
