Fuji Speedway and Sandown International Raceway coming to iRacing

rFactor is getting a huge update next week with the release of the Q2 Content Drop. Launching on 9 May, the Q2 Content Drop will add new engine sounds, as well as new DLC cars and tracks including Donington Park, Brands Hatch, and Laguna Seca.

rFactor 2 isn’t the only PC racing simulation being updated with new tracks, however. Fuji Speedway and Sandown International Raceway are also coming to iRacing in future updates.

Fuji Speedway

Fuji Speedway is finally making its iRacing debut in a future 2022 build update. Home of the Fuji 6 Hours, Fuji Speedway first opened in 1965. Since then, it’s been updated with new reconfigurations. In its current configuration, Fuji Speedway measures 2.835 miles and features 16 turns.

Fuji is finally making its iRacing debut later this year

“Fuji Speedway is an important part of Japanese motorsport history, and we’re excited to finally welcome it to iRacing,” said iRacing executive vice president Steve Myers.

“Over its many configurations, the track has hosted some of the world’s premier racing series and events, and we’re excited to bring those experiences to hundreds of thousands of iRacing users worldwide. We look forward to seeing how the world’s top iRacers will handle Fuji in open-wheel racers, sports cars, and much more after its coming release!”

There’s no release date yet, but Fuji will make its iRacing debut later this year as paid content.

Sandown International Raceway

Also joining iRacing’s track roster is Sandown International Raceway. Opened in 1962 and located in Melbourne, Australia, Sandown International Raceway hosts the Australian Supercars Championship.

It also hosted six rounds of the Australian Grand Prix. In its current guise, Sandown International Raceway is 1.928 miles long with 13 turns.
